Can you name every team in the National Hockey League before time runs out? This name all 32 NHL teams challenge gives you six minutes to type every club, from the Anaheim Ducks to the Winnipeg Jets. Nicknames alone count, as do city names and fan shorthand like Habs, Bolts and Avs. The Original Six come fast, but the newer expansion clubs and the Sun Belt teams often hold out until the end.
The NHL has 32 teams split into two conferences, East and West, and each conference has two divisions of eight: the Atlantic and Metropolitan in the East, and the Central and Pacific in the West. Six of those clubs date back to the Original Six era that ran from 1942 to 1967, and the league has grown in waves of expansion ever since. The newest additions are the Vegas Golden Knights, who debuted in 2017, and the Seattle Kraken, who arrived in 2021. In 2024 the Arizona Coyotes' hockey operations moved to Salt Lake City, and that team took its current name, the Mammoth, a year later.
