About this game

Major League Baseball has had 30 teams since the Arizona Diamondbacks and Tampa Bay Devil Rays both debuted in 1998. The clubs split into the American League and the National League, and each league has three divisions of five teams: East, Central and West. Two clubs have switched leagues: the Milwaukee Brewers moved from the AL to the NL in 1998, and the Houston Astros went the other way in 2013. A few names have changed recently too: Cleveland's team became the Guardians for the 2022 season, and the A's dropped Oakland from their name when they left for a temporary home in Sacramento ahead of a planned move to Las Vegas.

Work through the six divisions and stop when you reach five in each one. Three metro areas have two teams: New York (Yankees and Mets), Chicago (Cubs and White Sox) and Los Angeles (Dodgers and Angels). Remember there are two Sox, a Red and a White, and three teams named after birds. Only one club plays outside the US, in Toronto. Teams named for a state or region, such as Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Minnesota and Tampa Bay, are the ones players miss most often.
