Each edition picks three themes, asks about three questions on each and tosses in a wildcard, all shuffled together so you never know what is coming next. One minute you are thinking about the high seas, the next you are picturing a menu or an icy beach, which is exactly how a good quizmaster keeps a room on its toes.
The themes are chosen to reward different kinds of players. History buffs, foodies and nature lovers each get a moment to shine, and the wildcard can come from anywhere. Every round is pitched at a classic difficulty, so a few questions should feel like gimmes, most will make you think and a couple are there to separate the strongest teams. When you are stuck, try ruling out the answers you know are wrong first.
If you are hosting at home, read each question twice, give players about a minute to write an answer and then reveal the explanation before moving on. Keep score as you go so latecomers can still join in, and come back next week for a fresh set of themes.
